Back to School Necessities
Summer is coming to an end, which means every college student is scrambling for school supplies, food gift cards, gas money, and football Saturday attire. A great way to get excited for the up and coming school year is to take a day to check off your packing list and treat yourself to a few new back to school necessities.
1. A fun laptop case with personalized stickers
Having a personalized and decked out computer will make you want to study and pull out your computer to finish your online homework. Stickers and computer cases are also conversation starters in the library. Who knows, maybe you’ll meet a new friend because you both have a coffee sticker on your computer!
2. Sassy pair of readers/glasses
Sometimes seeing problems on the board or the paper in front of us is a struggle to read. Maybe you have your glasses from the fifth grade and are too embarrassed to even put them on. Having a sassy pair of glasses or readers can help you see and get your work done as well as boost your confidence while you write a research paper. Get yourself a cute pair to match your messy bun while in the library.
3. Extra chargers
Stock up on a few phone chargers, and one extra computer charger. You never know when you’ll pull an all-nighter at the library and forget your laptop charger.
4. Expressive travel mug
Coffee and tea start getting extremely expensive when you buy an elaborate drink every morning. Having a travel mug is nice because you can take it into the dining halls and fill up with your favorite flavors for FREE! You’ll also have extra cash in your pockets every week for more important things than a crazy coffee order.
5. One simple business casual outfit
College is full of big t-shirts and sweatpants; however, we never have enough “adult”-like clothing for job fairs or presentations. A nice blazer or dress pants could take a college student a long way. Dress to impress turns into reality after school, so we might as well practice!
6. Weekend duffel bag
Visiting friends at different schools can be some of the best trips and adventures in college. However, having the easiest travel bag is a necessity. Light duffel bags can fit all your shoes and clothes for an entire week, without being too heavy. They’re great carry-on bags for flights, and easy bags to throw in the trunk for a road trip.
Check off your packing lists, and don’t forget to treat yourself to a few new necessities before having a successful school year!
